Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Infamous Bytes iPhone app and the website infamousbytes.com (the “Service”), operated by UpFire Hot Sauce LLC d/b/a Infamous Bytes, a California limited liability company (“we,” “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.

2. Community rules

The kitchen runs on respect. Bring people up, not down. When you use the Service, you agree not to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or demean anyone, or post hate speech.
• Post sexual content, graphic violence, or anything illegal.
• Post content you don’t have the right to share, including other people’s photos or recipes copied without permission.
• Impersonate someone, or lie about your kitchen experience to get pro verification.
• Spam, scam, or manipulate Nods, badges, or the ladder.
• Interfere with or try to break the Service.

Report and block. Every post, comment, Byte, and profile has a Report and a Block option. We review reports and may remove content or suspend or ban accounts that break these rules.

3. Your content

You own the recipes, photos, posts, comments, and Bytes you create (“your content”). By posting it, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute your content within the Service, and to make simple technical changes (like resizing or compressing) needed to show it. This license is only for operating and promoting the Service, and it ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others have already shared within the Service or that we must keep by law. You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to what you post.

4. Subscription

• Browsing recipes and The Pass is free. A subscription unlocks Bytes (posting and watching) and the kitchen tools, such as the servings calculator and Event Sheet.
• The subscription costs $4.99 per month, billed by Apple through your Apple Account, and includes a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.
• The subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, the monthly charge begins.
• Cancel anytime in your iPhone’s Settings > your name > Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies.
• If the price ever changes, you will be notified in advance as Apple requires.

5. The calculator is a tool

The servings calculator, screenshot reading, and Event Sheet do the math and the busywork. They are tools, not a replacement for a cook. Text recognition can misread a screenshot, and scaled recipes, yields, and quantities are estimates. Always check the results. The judgment stays with the cook. You are responsible for the final amounts you cook, order, and serve.

6. Food safety

Recipes and content on the Service are for general information. Follow safe food handling practices, cook foods to safe internal temperatures, and keep food at safe temperatures. Check every recipe for allergens and dietary needs of the people you serve. Recipes from other users have not necessarily been tested; “Chef Verified” means a chef cooked it and signed off, not that it is right for every diet or kitchen. When cooking for an event or business, follow your local health code.

7. Disclaimers and limits

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. To the fullest extent allowed by law, UpFire Hot Sauce LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from recipes, quantities, or user content, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Ending your use

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these Terms.

9. Apple

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Your use of the app must also follow the App Store terms.

10. California law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California.

11. Changes and contact
